Evolution Tier List FAQ
What is the best Tatari to evolve first in this Evolution Tier List?+
Buddi Tatari tops our Evolution Tier List as the best first evolution in Clash of Critters. As a Grass-element healer, Buddi evolves into Sunfleur and eventually Solaflora, providing team-wide healing and ATK buffs through its Bright Hug skill. Healing is universally valuable across all game modes, making Buddi the safest first investment for new and experienced players alike.
How does the evolution system work in Clash of Critters?+
Evolution in Clash of Critters requires collecting duplicate copies of a Tatari through wishboxes, capsule pulls, and event rewards to increase its star rank. Most Tatari evolve at approximately 6 bronze stars for their first evolution (Gold rarity), and around 18–19 stars for the second evolution (Red rarity) after completing an Evolution Trial challenge. Some Tatari have longer evolution lines with up to four stages.
Do Tatari change their name and appearance when they evolve?+
Yes, Tatari change both their name and visual appearance at each evolution stage. For example, Buddi evolves into Sunfleur and then into Solaflora, while Punchimp evolves into Rockfu and then into Rockong. Each evolution also grants significant stat improvements and enhanced abilities, making the evolved forms substantially stronger than the base form.
What is an Evolution Trial in Clash of Critters?+
An Evolution Trial is a special challenge you must complete before a Tatari can reach its next evolution stage. Trials vary by Tatari — some require clearing a set number of stages with specific companion Tatari, while others simply require shooting a certain number of pinballs. The trial ensures you have experience using the Tatari before unlocking its more powerful evolved form.
Should I evolve multiple Tatari at the same time or focus on one?+
It is generally better to focus your evolution resources on one Tatari at a time, prioritizing S+ tier picks first. Evolving a single Tatari to its final form gives you a fully powered unit that can carry your team, whereas spreading resources across multiple Tatari leaves you with several underpowered units. The recommended order is: first evolve a healer (Buddi), then a DPS (Punchimp or Dewgrub), then a tank.
What are the longest evolution lines in Clash of Critters?+
Several Tatari have four-stage evolution lines, and Sparkit uniquely has a five-stage line — the longest in the game. Four-stage lines include Frugling (Frugling → Frugatoad → Frugagon → Frugantuan), Frostnip (Frostnip → Frostpaw → Frostique → Frostluna), Pandaroo (Pandaroo → Pandaroot → Pandarrior → Pandagrand), Sealing (Sealing → Sealoon → Seaswirl → Sealord), Sackling (Sackling → Jarachnid → Terracrawler → Weaverfang), and Shardsnail (Shardsnail → Gemsnail → Jewelsnail → Crystalsnail). Sparkit is the only five-stage Tatari: Sparkit → Firefox → Flametail → Flarevix → Phantifox.
